Coronary flow in sinus grafts.

چکیده
I read with interest the article of De Paulis et al. “Coronary flow characteristics after a Bentall procedure with or without sinuses of Valsalva” in the July 2004 issue of the European Journal of Cardiothoracic Surgery [1], which examines the effects of the pseudosinuses of a ‘new conduit’ with pseudosinuses (Gelweave Valsalvae, Terumo Vascutek, Renfrewshire, Scotland, UK) upon coronary blood flow. While our observations on the subject of how the bulb geometry may modify coronary flow are comparable with those of the authors, i.e. the effect is minimal, if

Hemodynamics and coronary blood flow during exercise after coronary artery bypass grafting with internal mammary arteries in children with Kawasaki disease.
BACKGROUND Saphenous vein grafts (SVG) and internal mammary artery (IMA) grafts have been used for coronary artery bypass grafting. In adult patients with bypass grafting for atherosclerotic coronary artery disease, IMA grafts have been reported to have long-term patency; however, results are conflicting on whether the graft is sufficient to meet increased myocardial oxygen demand during exerci...
متن کاملNitrous oxide added to halothane reduces coronary flow and myocardial oxygen consumption in patients with coronary disease.
The haemodynamic and myocardial metabolic effects of adding 50 per cent nitrous oxide to 0.5 per cent halothane were studied in 13 patients, before the surgical incision for coronary artery vein grafts. Cardiac output and coronary sinus blood flow were determined by thermodilution, along with haemodynamic measurements. Measurements 15 minutes after addition of nitrous oxide revealed a significa...
متن کاملComparison of Implant Stability in Sinus Lift Surgery Using Autogenous Versus Allogeneic Bone Grafts
Background and aim: The most common method of increasing implant stability in the posterior maxilla comprises the reinforcement of bone height using bone grafts in sinus lift surgery. The purpose of the present study was to compare autogenous and allogeneic bone grafts in implant stability after open sinus lift surgery. Materials and methods: This split-mouth clinical trial compared the implant...
متن کاملImaging of a coronary artery bypass graft during coronary sinus venography.
Retrograde coronary sinus perfusion to maintain viability during cardiac surgery means that a connection via the capillary system to the coronary arteries, and potentially bypass grafts, may be possible. Coronary sinus (CS) venography prior to resynchronisation therapy in this patient with previous bypass grafting was associated with visualisation of these grafts.
متن کاملCoronary artery ectasia--a variant of occlusive coronary arteriosclerosis.
In a study of 1000 consecutive coronary arteriograms, 12 patients (all men) had coronary artery ectasia. Ectasia was found most frequently in the circumflex or right coronary artery. Only 1 patient had ectasia in the left anterior descending coronary artery. In 11 patients, ectasia of one artery was associated with severe stenosis or occlusion of other vessels, typical of arteriosclerosis. Hist...
